Information

Sensei Tyler joined Kyushin Ryu Jujitsu at 12 years of age in 2013 at the Sandgate Dojo. Before moving up in the Seniors in 2014, he achieved the rank of Junior Blue Belt.

In 2015 Tyler became a Sempai after passing the course and began to help with the Sub-Juniors and Juniors at the Zillmere Dojo. While continuing his studies as a regular student he achieved the rank of Senior 1st Kyu (Brown with Black Tip) in November 2017.

In November 2017, Tyler was selected as an official at the World Jujitsu Titles at the Gold Coast. He was also part of the Australian Demonstration Team which earned Gold.

After training for a year and a half, Sensei Tyler achieved the rank of Sho Dan (1st Degree Black Belt) in May 2019. Upon achieving his black belt, he began to assist in teaching at the Zillmere and Pine Rivers Dojos.

Sensei Tyler was also selected as an official for the World Jujitsu Titles in Orlando, Florida.

After assisting in teaching through 2019, he took the role of Senior Coach at the Sandgate Dojo at the start of 2020 and has been since. After achieving his Sho Dan, Sensei Tyler began studying for his Ni Dan, which he achieved in October 2020. Currently, he is Senior Coach of Zillmere Dojo on Tuesday nights.

Sensei Tyler began his study of Judo in September 2021 under Shihan Jim & Sensei Meladee Stackpoole and achieved Yon Kyu during November 2021.
