Information:

Ted Cowell has been involved in martial arts for nearly 50 years. He commenced his martial arts career at the Sandgate Judo Club in the mid 1960s, under the instruction of Desmond de Vene. He progressed through the ranks to achieve his black belt, and along the way began studying Jujitsu. He was promoted to 2nd Dan in Jujitsu in 1986, by a panel headed by Kyoshi John Lee Jones.

Ted is the instructor of the Pine Rivers PCYC Jujitsu section, and in October 2004 qualified as an NCAS accredited Jujitsu coach. In recognition of his long service with the QLD PCYCs, Ted was presented with a lifetime membership in 2006.

Ted has been a long time friend of Shihan Jim Stackpoole, and assisted him in the formation of the Boondall Judo and Jujitsu Club as far back as 1966.
