Information:

Kyoshi Joe Elkenhans commenced his martial arts training in 1954, as a student of John Lee Jones, who was a disciple of the renowned late Dr A.J. Ross who founded the Brisbane Judo-Jujitsu Club in 1926.  He studied the Yoshin Ryu style of Jujitsu and, in recent times has been in great demand with his teachings of pressure points.

During his martial arts career he also became an exponent of Judo, winning many State and National Judo titles during the 1960-1980 period. Mr. Elkenhans is the holder of Black Belt 7th Dan in Jujitsu, 6th Dan in Judo and 1st Dan in Karate.  He is an accomplished sports trainer, and has travelled to New Zealand and Japan in this capacity.

For 35 years, he has been a close friend of Shihan Jim Stackpoole, and is a respected associate member of the Kyushin Ryu School of Jujitsu.
