Information

Sempai Norm first started martial arts when he was 9, training Judo in between league seasons. When he was 15-16 he tried Tae Kwon Do and achieved the rank of Green Belt.

His first involvement with Kyushin Ryu was volunteering through 2013 with his son Sensei Tyler starting with the club. After 16 years of playing touch football and representing State and Country, he desired to become active again. Upon being talked to come back and try martial arts, Sempai Norm started training in the mainstream curriculum in 2016 and become a Sempai that same year.

In 2017, Sempai Norm was selected to represent Australia as an official at the World Jujitsu Titles at the Gold Coast. He was also part of the Australian Demonstration team which earned Gold. Sempai Norm was also selected to represent Australia as an official at the 2019 World Jujitsu Titles in Orlando, Florida along with his son Sensei Tyler.

Sensei Norm achieved Sho Dan in October 2020 and now currently Sensei Norm holds the rank of 2nd Dan (1st Degree Black Belt) which was achieved in November 2021 and is the Senior Coach at the Zillmere Dojo.
