Sensei Andrew began training in Kyushin Ryu Jujitsu in 2014 at the age of 19. At the beginning of 2015 he started studying Judo under Shihan Jim Stackpoole and Sensei Meladee Stackpoole at the Kyushin Ryu Jujitsu Judo club. Including Judo and Jujitsu, Sensei Andrew trained three to four times a week whilst also studying at university. From 2014 to 2020 at university he studied Psychology and Justice, majoring in Criminology and policing. Currently, Sensei Andrew is working towards a career in the Queensland police service.

Over the years as he climbed through ranks in Jujitsu, Sensei Andrew contributed to the club as a sempai, getting on the mat and assisting the Dan ranks as they delivered the classes. He used this period of time to learn how to teach and run a martial arts class. In 2019 he attained his 1st dan blackbelt in Kyushin Ryu Jujitsu. After another year of training he attained his 2nd dan and passed his brown belt grading in Judo.

In 2017, Andrew was a member of the demonstration team at the World Jujitsu Championships on the Gold Coast, Australia. The Australian demonstration team took out the gold medal after performing a technical and entertainment display.

In 2021 Sensei Andrew was selected to be part of the Queensland team, representing at the Australian Judo National Championships. He competed in the under 66 kg Kyu senior men and the senior men open ranks. Unfortunately, he was unsuccessful in his attempts to medal but gained valuable experience and an increased determination for further self improvement.

He has competed at the annual Kyushin Ryu Jujitsu competition since 2015 and has medalled every year. During these competitions he also referees both the standing category and the grappling category. Currently, Andrew still trains two to three times a week in Jujitsu and judo combined and competes in judo competitions held throughout the year. In judo, Andrew has also received his coaching accreditation in late 2020.
